West Virginia Trip 2009

We had a wonderful visit to West Virginia last week. We went and spent a week with West’s family in the cabin in Lewisburg. It was such a great trip. The weather was perfect! It wasn’t too cold, but we did have a little bit of snow (enough to get the kids super excited!) Andrew got to play and spend tons of time with his cousins, Nikki and Karlee. The kids got along great and seemed to play perfectly with one another! Andrew enjoyed all the personal time he got to spend with “Mamaw Cheryl” and “Papa Jerry” and loved how much each spoiled him rotten! Andrew also discovered his favorite new animal – “Buck Deer!” There are tons of deer that feed and roam in the acreage surrounding their cabin and about every five minutes or so – Andrew would ask/beg/demand to go see the deer! We celebrated Christmas for him out there on Wednesday so the family could see him open their presents and the kids could experience opening presents together! It was quite the site – Karlee snuck around and opened most of Andrew’s gifts before he could get to them, but Andrew could care less! He got a tricycle, books, clothes, multiple cars, an airplane to ride, and a big kitchen set! It was quite the experience trying to get all of the presents packed into the car on the way back! We thought we were going to have to leave Andrew there! Just kidding! We drove the entire 11 hour trip back on Saturday, and Andrew slept a total of 1 1/2 of that trip! Sheesh…but he did great and didn’t fuss at all! We were really proud of him! It is so sad that our family lives so far away, but we are trying more and more to get together with them so Andrew can know and grow up with his entire family!
PS – I have had a heck of a time learning the new Word Press system and uploading pictures! I have had this post in my drafts for a week, but couldn’t get the picture to upload correctly! Finally…if anyone is still reading this outdated blog!!!
Looks like your trip was a lot of fun…we missed you all but it is cute hearing Andrew talk about his WV adventures. He is becoming quite a chatterbox these days and it is fun listening to him put words together into his little sentences.
