Everything is getting “sick”!
Man…what a way to start out the new year! Unfortunately, after avoiding Cindy and Nate for over a week, we saw them last Sunday night for about an hour. Tuesday morning, Andrew woke up throwing up and had picked up the stomach flu bug that had been rampant at the Essex household! So Tuesday and Wednesday were spent taking care of a sick little boy, doing massive amounts of laundry and disinfecting everything in the house! (At this point, neither West nor I have gotten sick…thankfully!) Thursday the snow storm hit and we had several inches of snow and blowing conditions. So this first week at work was hectic and disorientating, but hopefully next week will be better.
Not only did Andrew pick up the stomach virus, our laptop computer where we do most of our work got a wonderful and malicious computer virus this week and has reeked havoc on our computer. My dad has been working to fix it, but to no avail. And of course, being the procrastinator that I am…I had stuff on there (mostly videos of Andrew) that I have yet to back up…and might be lost for good!!! I’m truly mad at myself for not taking the five minutes that it takes to back up these things! Seriously, I love the digital world of these new pictures and videos, but if something happens to them, they’re gone! So here is my soap box proclamation – BACK UP BACKUP and BACKUP your computer! My dad says he might be able to save them…I’m keeping my fingers crossed…please please please!
On top of a sick child and a sick computer…everything in our house seems to be having issues! I guess the cold weather is hard on everyone and everything! Toilets, furnaces, etc…what else is going to go wrong in this new year!? This year can only get better…right?!
Sorry to hear this week hasn’t been a good one. That stomach bug is something! Krystal missed work the Mon before Christmas with it but was better when we arrived Tues night. No one else showed symptoms so Mike and I proceeded to Brian’s Christmas Eve. By the time we left on Mon. everyone but Caleb and Olivia had their bout with it. We said it was a good thing we hadn’t planned to see all of you. Sorry the bug still attacked. If anyone can retrieve those videos it’s Jim. Somehow when the weather is bad, everything negative seems magnified. Hang in there!
January 9th, 2010 at 4:42 pmPoor Andrew! We tried really hard to keep everyone healthy! We didn’t want to pass it on to anyone! Hence the volunteer quarentine at the Essex household.
I hope that dad can get your videos off the computer for you. I’ve been working on backing my stuff up. Thanks for the reminder!
